e-Safety
Within the past 2 decades, the use of ICT/ Computing in schools has snowballed. It has completely altered the way children learn, and the way teachers prepare for lessons. A major part of the children's learning takes place online. As with any other aspect of school life, it is imperative that certain safety procedures have been adopted and put in place by schools. The Internet, as an education resource, is almost unavoidable. Educating children how to safely use this resource (commonly referred to as "e-Safety") is vital to their IT education, from informing pupils of acceptable websites to use, most educational-valid websites to protecting pupils from external Internet users and an action plan as to how to prevent cyber-bullying.
I have dedicated this section of my showcase website to summarise the importance of e-Safety, as well as including my own ICT pledge (including my two-term action plans).
